Throughout these images you will see figures and numbers. I pray that you'll see more too. I hope you'll see that each number represents a life-changed, a soul saved, and a hungry family fed. It's our desire that these figures will tell you a story of ministry throughout the year at Encounter Church.

The facts and figures on this webpage are not the result of careful planning or human intentions. They are only possible through the singular power of Jesus Christ, who is with us always to the end of the age.

May you read these pages with enthusiasm for God's unstoppable, irresistible epicenter of hope called the church.

With gratitude,

Dirk VanEyk || Lead Pastor

Break Me from the Dangerous Prayers message series has made a huge impact on my life. I don't think there has been a day since I've heard that message that I haven't thought about it, related to it, or talked about it. Thank you for these messages. They have made a huge impact on my life, that message especially, and I'm positive they do the same for others.

Hearing that message changed my life and I'm so thankful I found Encounter Church!

The podcast of "Failure to Purpose" (from the Overcome series) has had a major impact for me and others this week. As I listened to it I felt my stress being released by the Holy Spirit. The devil has been telling me two truths and a lie. Now, when I know a thought is coming from the devil, I have been stopping him earlier. I only want thoughts from the perfect, 100%, Lord and Savior. I live in Indiana.

I will be heading off to graduate school in August, and have been thinking about how bittersweet it is to leave Encounter. This church has left a stamp on my soul in such a beautiful way and has helped me become who I am today. My faith has grown and flourished in this church! I could go on for many pages about God's work in my life through Encounter, but I don't want to write an even longer novel.

And I know I am just one of so many stories of God's work in my life through Encounter Church and the people of Encounter - praise God for that!

When we added a second worship experience on Sunday morning, we immediately saw attendance jump up significantly. As Encounter continues to grow throughout 2019, we'll more than likely need to add a third worship experience. This will provide even more chairs in worship and spots for kids to learn about Jesus, but it will also provide another convenient opportunity to say 'yes' to experiencing God and allowing more people to experience that same eternity-changing love of Christ.

The Pantry has been a significant strategic partner of Encounter since the day we moved to our current campus. In 2018 we provided funding for over 50,000 meals through the efficiency and stewardship of The Pantry. Additionally, many Encounter regulars have worked tirelessly on their board and as regular volunteers. We're looking forward to even greater partnership in 2019.

Clearly, when Jesus told us to "make disciples," he had addition and even multiplication in mind. The church in the books of Acts grew rapidly and continued to start new churches along the way. 2019 will be a defining year for Encounter to begin growing and introducing people to Jesus through multiplication across new sites.

Additionally, through our 10% tithe we were able to fund and in some cases launch three churches. The Caledonia Gathering is a brand new church that meets in a coffee shop in nearby Caledonia. They recently moved to two morning worship experiences to accommodate growth. Celebration Fellowship is a prison church that meets in Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility. Guests from "the outside" mix up with men "on the inside" to worship every week. Encounter has even supported a church plant that specifically reaches Albanian and Bosnian immigrants in Kentwood. Praise God!

You don't just give to Encounter but through Encounter because your gift doesn't stop here. God has a way of transforming each gift into a lasting eternal ministry. These ministry dollars disciple children and teens, they connect people into small groups, they result in baptisms and new faith declarations. Through our church tithe to outside groups, they even help start new churches feed the hungry.

If this ministry has made an impact on your life this year, take a moment and consider a year-end gift. All gifts are tax deductible and must be post-marked by December 31, 2018. The easiest ways to give are through the button below or via text at 616.312.2205.

Though 2018 has been an amazing year, the best is yet to come!
