Encounter’s Lead Team is looking for nominations for new members beginning Jan 1. The LT will be comprised of 7-9 elected Partners that are committed to guiding Encounter into God’s preferred future for this his church. The duration of service for a Lead Team member is three years.

Biblical Qualifications

Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?) He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap.” - 1 Timothy 3:1-7

Encounter Church Qualifications

Candidates for Encounter’s Lead Team will:

  1. Be an official partner of Encounter church and agree to promote beliefs as stated here.

  2. Worship. Attend worship experiences regularly and often while sacrificing personal preferences for the advancement of God’s Kingdom.

  3. Serve. Invest time and talent on a team at Encounter.

  4. Group. Grow in the community of a small group.

  5. Give. Demonstrate an attitude of open-handed financial stewardship


    After a nomination is accepted, and before the term begins for a newly elected Lead Team member, the on-boarding member(s) will be required to read Deep and Wide by Andy Stanley before the first in-person Lead Team meeting.
